FAQ

-- FAQ --

Q: I have loads of pictures from parties x, y and z. How do I get those photos added in Slengpung?

A: Do like this: Check your pictures, pick the 20 best or so from each party, resize them so the longer side is 1024 pixels maximum, rotate the ones needing to be rotated, write nice descriptions with <h>handle</h> tags, upload an archive (max size 2MB, if you have more, you already have too much) somewhere and email us at staffATslengpungDOTcom to tell us where to find them. You can also send the photos with descriptions zipped directly to photosATslengpungDOTcom. Oh, and if you REALLY want to make us happy, tell any person on your pictures not currently in our user-database to register at once.

Q: I really want to become one of you Slengpung guys, what do I do?

A: First of all, you should be taking a lot of quality pictures, or at least be able to gather a fair amount from your scene network. You should also go to a lot of parties. A good camera would be nice, we don't really need a photographer with some nokia phone. You should also have some references, knowing someone already in the crew would be a good start. If you find that you really fit into all this, consider emailing staffATslengpungDOTcom to apply.

Q: What's this site about? All I can see is ugly nerds and their computers. What kind of weird people are you anyways?

A: This site is dedicated to collecting photos from demoscene parties and meetings all around the world. If you don't want to watch ugly nerds we can recommend visiting this site instead.

Q: What should I do if I want to get a photo removed from your archive?

A: A Slengpung user can request removing a photo in case of:

  • photo contains illegal or offending material (see disclaimer)
  • photo including the user was taken against his/her permission
  • the user does not allow publishing a photo with him/her at all
If a photo contains an overall view, scenery or large group of people with user not being directly photographed, we will keep the photo online. However, upon a request of deleting a photo like this, we can remove direct references to a user (for example user name in a photo description).

We will process only photo removal requests made personally - i.e. you can't request on anyone's behalf for other photos to be removed.

Q: Why is my handle/group/country missing or totally wrong?

A: Slengpung photographers are - after all - just human beings, and can't know personally every single scener there is. But if you spot an error you can mail us and we'll fix it. Don't forget to tell which photos or people have false information.

Q: I know at least dozen of ??? people in descriptions!

A: Write a mail and tell us your secrets, or add a comment to the pictures.

Q: What does Slengpung mean?

A: Go and ask Arcane at some party when he's not passed out (now this is a harder task as it sounds like...).

Q: Who did the page design? I just love it!

A: A friendly fisherman from Norway called Erik.
